Installation of BoltWire is designed to be quick and easy. You
only need a basic webserver with PHP enabled, and the boltwire.zip
download. Here are the basic instructions:

1. Extract the contents of the boltwire download to your hard drive
or web server. You should end up with a folder called 'boltwire'
with several subdirectories, and a 'field' folder. You may rename
the field folder to another name if you like, and make as many copies
of it as you wish. Each field is essentially a separate site.

2. If BoltWire is installed on a Linux or Unix server, you will need
to verify that the permissions for the boltwire directory and its
subfolders are set to 755. The permissions of each "field" folder
should be set to 777.

3. Inside each field folder create a file called index.php, with the
following lines:

<?php
$BOLTadmin='myid';
include_once("../boltwire/barn/scripts/engine.php");

Change 'myid' to the name of a member you wish to assign as a BOLTadmin.
The permissions for index.php should be set to 644.

4. Finally, point your browser to the index file you just created, and
BoltWire should spring to life--creating all other needed files and
folders automatically! The URL should look like one of these:

http://www.domain.com/field/index.php
http://localhost/field/index.php

For information about how to create additional websites, or use other
configuration options, please see the onsite documentation.

That's it... It probably takes longer to read these instructions than to
follow them!

Cheers,
Dan

PS. Be sure to register the member account you gave admin powers to
immediately, to prevent someone else from gaining control of that
account--and your site.
